BeepDetect ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Ruta Capital LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the BeepDetect app.

Microphone Access

BeepDetect requires microphone access to detect smoke alarm chirps. We want to be clear about how this works:

• The microphone is only active when you explicitly start a listening session
• Audio is processed entirely on your device in real time
• No audio is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted
• Listening automatically stops when your timer ends or you tap Stop

Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address (for account authentication)
• Your name (if provided via Sign in with Apple or Google)

We also store your detection history (dates, times, and frequency data of detections) in your account so you can review past sessions.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• Audio recordings of any kind
• Your location
• Device contacts or photos
• Browsing history

How We Use Your Information

We use your account information solely to:

• Authenticate you and save your detection history
• Send important app updates or security notices

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-Party Services

BeepDetect uses the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication and data storage. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Amazon Associates — affiliate links for battery purchases. Clicking these links takes you to Amazon; their privacy policy applies.

Data Security

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored securely via Firebase. We follow industry-standard security practices.

Children's Privacy

BeepDetect is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
